Weekend Puppet Theatre Lab

A hands-on weekend lab where children explore performance, storytelling, puppet-making, and imaginative play.

In each class, children work directly with a wide range of puppets, including shadow puppets (colourful and traditional), muppet-style puppets, professional theatrical puppets, and tabletop puppets. They touch, operate, and experiment with real stage puppets, learning how different designs create movement, emotion, and character.

Through guided theatre play, children create scenes, invent characters, and tell stories using puppetry, movement, and improvisation. They are introduced to the basics of puppet performance in a clear, age-appropriate way.

Each child designs and builds their own puppet to take home, extending the creative process beyond the class.

Classes are structured to be welcoming and supportive. Sessions are paced to keep children engaged, comfortable, and confident, so they leave feeling inspired and excited to create.

Kids will take home a handmade puppet.
All materials are provided.
